Holy hotness batman!

We are in the middle of a heat wave! It is hazy, hot, and humid...three words that when used together mean you are guaranteed to be sweaty and sticky and uncomfortable at all times. I bought Charlie a sand-water table after some price comparisons at different stores. He loves it, although it is now just a sand table as we also have a kiddie pool for all of his water needs. The sand is what he really loves and it makes it less messy that way. But regardless, he loves the table and I bought some very cool dollar toys at Target that really make the table tons of fun!

Above, he is chasing after me to check my heart...he wants to be a "mommy nurse" as I tell him that I am a baby nurse. A mommy nurse means that he checks on his mommy. Very cute.
Here he is checking my blood pressure on my wrist...a very accurate measurement I am sure! He takes all of this "check-up" business very seriously and everything has a noise associated with it. He also likes to give shots in the jugular region...don't know where that came from but I'm glad it's not standard practice!
We took him to Build A Bear since I was off work one night and it was seriously the cutest thing ever. The hardest part was getting him to pick out ONE animal to make...he LOVES stuffed animals...the more the merrier. SO he finally chose this long furred dog breed. Very cute. Above he is putting the heart in after kissing it and giving the "puppy" a hug.

Here he is brushing the dog and giving it an air bath which he thought was hilarious (there's a blow dryer type of mechanism that fluffs the dog's fur). He picked out a fireman outfit and Alex and I helped name him Tommy Gavin (any Rescue Me fans out there?!) and Charlie simply calls him Tommy. He is obsessed with him and hugged him the whole way while walking out of the mall. Tommy sat next to him while eating at Bahama Breeze and slept next to him that night and every night since. Quite adorable actually.
The boys (Ethan and Charlie) at the Cricket Club pool cooling off after watching the bike race on Saturday in 100 degree heat. It's been fun but I am looking forward to some relief from this heat! Other than a bug problem related to construction on a dilapidated house next door (thank you Ehrlich Pest Control...you are our savior!) we look forward to a rather quiet week. His mattress comes tomorrow and he should love his big boy bed even more! He's doing great in it and thinks it's pretty cool to sleep in "my own bed"! He's 30 months tomorrow...can't believe how time flies!

We'd love a play date! We have the same table, but I think we'll be converting ours to water only since Hallie doesn't really like the sand side but loves the water side. We can figure out the logistics on Saturday; we're pretty free after the weekend of the 21st and any weeknight evening is fine with us! (Today kind of was miserable weather wise but we finally did get outside for a dip in our neighbor's wading pool and for a session with the play table and in the park after 5pm....I hope it cools off soon!)
