In case you thought otherwise, he can open his eyes...they are a dark blue color right now although we know that will change...hopefully into the pretty blue eyes that Alex and Charlie have.

Aaron has been doing well today. He was bumped down to 1L on his oxygen flow and he is on full feeds so they removed the IV line going into his belly button. This means he can now wear clothes and be wrapped in a crib (as opposed to the
isolette). This all happened late tonight but Alex and I were able to bathe him together and dress him and hold him in his first little outfit. So cute!

My mom took Charlie this afternoon and will keep him overnight so Alex was able to spend some quality time with his other little boy. Alex has been amazing and has kept it all together so well. He amazes me everyday with all that he does and he has been a rock through this whole pregnancy.

Aaron loves the pacifier...he holds it in himself with the strong suck he has. Charlie was never really into the pacifier, I think Aaron may be a bit different. Aaron also loved to be curled up in a little ball where Charlie would sprawl out and hated being bundled or swaddled.

One of my favorites so far. He LOVES to snuggle...I don't mind it either!

Aside from all the steps forward Aaron made medically, we had a busy visitor day which was wonderful. Lots of our friends came by to see the little guy while he was still confined to his plastic box (
isolette). Our friends
Abby and Sharon (represented by Abby) came by and brought us some really beautiful gifts, and a gift for Charlie that he will open tomorrow night. My favorite things were turtle clothing from
gymboree. I had seen the collection on their website and was
soooo tempted but unable to bring myself to buy anything (we are on a buy what we NEED only kind of budget) and was so excited to open a box full of turtle themed baby clothes that I had been drooling over for the past 2 months! Thanks guys! We also appreciated everyone else who came to visit our little man over the past few days. Our good friends Dave and Mike came last night and brought me two big bouquets of tulips...I am so lucky to have such amazing people in my life!
I get discharge tomorrow which will be hard, I know it will, but I am looking forward to creating some stability at home for Charlie before his baby brother comes home and changes life as he knows it!

We were so nervous that you had already bought/been given the turtle collection, knowing how much turtles mean to you, so we're psyched that this worked out! I couldn't resist getting this stuff for Aaron when I saw the collection and I bet he's going to look so cute in them this summer and next fall.
Hopefully he's having a more stable day today and hopefully he'll be home with the family soon!
