Baby Aaron is coming soon!
Well, we are having a baby tonight! I went to the PETU from work around 4am for more bleeding, clots, contractions, etc. After some ultrasounds (which showed a large clot behind the placenta where the umbilical cord inserts) the MFM docs decided they were most comfortable delivering me today. He's still early, and will have to spend some time in the NICU, but they are worried that he won't be okay at some point if we wait a few more weeks. The next decision was to try labor or go right for the section. I am 1-2 cm dilated and having contractions, but there was a concern for hemorrhage and needing to do an emergency C-section which is not ideal. After talking with my mom and Alex, we decided to do the planned C and have it be as controlled as possible. So we waited until this evening for the Lovenox to wear off (an IM injection I give myself every evening) and we'll be having the baby within the hour. Alex and my mom and dad and his dad are downstairs getting a bite to eat and Charlie is at home with Alex's brother and I'm nervously awaiting surgery. It's all a little surreal. This is certainly not how I envisioned the end of this pregnancy but I am happy they are taking his health as the number one priority and I know they wouldn't be recommending all of this unless it was truly necessary. Please keep us in your thoughts and pics will be up late this weekend if I go home when planned!
