Charlie my little character

Charlie woke up this morning and exclaimed, "today is going to be the happiest day ever...okay! So you just have to smile all day!" He was so happy all morning, even called my parents to tell them that today is the happiest day. He came home from school in a great mood and around 4:15, he was on the couch watching a show while I cooked dinner. He said to me, "mommy, the happiest day is over right now. Being happy like this all day, well it's alot of work and I'm tired...so it's over." And that was the end of the happiest day! He was still in a good mood though...he just cracks me up!

Please Touch Museum Fun

I took Aaron to the PTM this week to see how he liked it, and to get a membership. He enjoyed himself but seemed to be lost without his #1 playmate...Charlie!
He kind of sat around and didn't really know what to do...
I think he also didn't believe that he was actually allowed to touch anything!

This poor baby got dropped on its head several times...oops!

His favorite part was the water table...despite the smock, he was drenched head to toe!

We decided to bring Charlie there the next day to help show Aaron a good time!
Even though Charlie is a little old for alot of the museum, he still had a great time!
Aaron really loves his older bro!
Aaron sat and played with the cash register most of the supermarket time...exactly what Charlie used to do!
He broke free with a cart!
Charlie got his groove on at the floor piano!
They fed the three bears some porridge before we left...

Recent Charlie-isms

*Aaron was babbling alot one morning so I asked Charlie what he thought his brother was saying. His response, "He's just saying that he really wants to have more baby brothers to have fun with...you can have two more, one for me and one for Aaron, OK!"

*Aaron was being particularly difficult one day and Charlie said to me at bedtime, "mom, Aaron is like a rat...no one wants to take care of him, no one wants to talk to him, and no one will share thir stuff with them"

*After their bath one day, I had dressed Aaron in his PJ's (regular, normal PJ's) and Charlie said to me, "mommy, Aaron looks like a mermaid in boots who lives in Hawaii"

*One morning Charlie was getting dressed for school and he says, "mommy, can we go steal some bodies today?"

*Charlie and I were at the pet store the other day getting some aquarium supplies and we were looking at the other pets. Our conversation went like this:
C-"mommy, I would really like to have a cat"
Me-"buddy, we can't have a cat, daddy is really allergic"
C-"hmmm, well, maybe we could just get rid of daddy...that sounds like an idea"

*We were on our way home from school today and Charlie said to me: "Mom, instead of buying me a new train, I really think you should buy someone to fix daddy's eyes...maybe the airconditioner man could do it"

Visitors from Michigan

We had some visitors in town last weekend...Alex's roommate from college and his wife (above) and son came to stay with us for the weekend. Aaron really liked Kim as you can see from the picture abve!
This is their son Tyler who's 5 1/2 years old and one of the sweetest kids you'll ever meet. He and Charlie got along so well, I really have not seen anything like it. They played well, their temperments were almost identical, and they really enjoyed each other's company!

Charlie got to play mini-golf for the first time!
He loved it...
We went and saw the liberty bell. We bought each kid a small replica and Tyler didn't want the one we gave him because it had a crack in it! Too funny! Charlie is really fascinated with the whole idea of the bell and tells anyone he sees all about it!
Aaron slept through alot of the weekend but he had fun too. It was really great to have old friends come and meet our kids for the first time! Next summer, we're going to see them and meet their newest...Kim is having a baby girl this winter after having had cancer and radiation, she was cleared and got pregnant with a healthy little girl!

Taking my boys camping

I took my boys camping this past weekend while we were in Harrisburg remembering Uncle Norman. My mom and dad came too to help. We had a great time and Charlie could not have been happier.
Although Aaron was a handful as he always is, it really was great.
The tent sleeping was a big hit. Charlie thought it was great that he got to sleep next to Gampa. He also loved the campfire...
They made smores and although Charlie thought it was yummy, he thought it was too messy!
We will definitely be doing this again!
